Re: 5.0 In A Fairmont Futura

I have never heard of a Fairmont Futura before! I'll assume you're from the US, due to the 5.0 being sourced from a Lincoln. I'm afraid I won't be able to help if this is the case, but out of pure interest, what's an '82 Fairmont Futura look like? And what is its specs? (engine, drivetrain, size, performance, etc)

Cheers,
-Dave-

Re: 5.0 In A Fairmont Futura

As the Fairmont Futura is a Fox-body, the 5.0 will fit easily. Sourcing parts from a Fox Mustang (79 to 93) will be the easiest, as the wreckers are full of them over there. Give him the AOD tranny with the engine to make it easier for him. Actually, the AOD in the full-sized Fords, such as your Lincoln have a wider set of ratios than AOD's fitted to Mustangs and Thunderbirds, much better performance-wise.

Re: 5.0 In A Fairmont Futura

Niiiiiiice... I want a pimpin ride like that!

Are they "related" to Crown Vics, Grand Marquis', etc? Are they like a mid-size brother to them?

I'm assuming the fox body is midsize, due to it being used for Mustangs of the time
