I'm damn impressed with my accidental discovery.

I've got more power, and im using less fuel.

I'm consistantly getting 500+ k's per 68l tank in the city where before i could only get 400 if i was lucky in my v8 Nf2 fairlane.

I'm getting an extra 100k's for sweet f/all.

If i knew the exhaust was going to make this much difference i would of put it on my priority list.

I think stainless steel extractors and the least restrictive cats available is going to be my next purchase, the difference in fuel consumption is amaizing!

Do you have auto or manual transmission?

You think its all down to the exhaust?

modern fairlanes since i cant remember when all have auto's

It must be the exhaust, ivn't done anything else and the results were instant, from accidently on purpose gutting my cats.

Changed the exhaust on my EL Wagon (6 cyl auto) on friday and just drove it 500km's and wow - what a difference.

We fitted a 2.5 inch system from the cat back with a large single "Turbo" muffler. It drones a little between 2200 and 3000 rpm but since 100kph cruise is 2000rpm it's not a problem.

First thing I noticed was the increase in low down torque - like really noticed. And then the fuel consumption - I'm usually lucky to get 500k's out of a tank on a trip home to see the folks, but so far we have 550 k's on the trip meter and 1/4 of a tank of fuel to go.

Headders and cat are definately next! Anyone know the model numbers of the lukey headders and cat that Jim Mock uses ?

Wow, what type of exhaust did you get fitted and as your in Perth, who fitted it for you?

I think the general concensous with headers are pacemakers, i think i'll be trying them very soon.
