I just brought a old laser, it was cheap and I knew it had a few problems (all good) anyway the linkage for the gear box is very very loose, just wondering if anyone out there would roughly know how long it would take to fix it and whats involved, the guy I brought the car off said he had sourced the part needed from a wreckers for about $6...
I got a mate who said he can fix it for me, but I want to have some info for my own piece of mind

Well its fixed, it was the bushes, we first pulled out thew gear stick and loosed it from the gearbox itself, took the gear linkage to ford and got some new bushes $9.95 each for pieces of plastic that would cost about 20c and whacked it all back together.

Cost: $39.80
Difficulty: -1
Having a fixed gear shift: priceless
