93 Tempo valve noise - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I have a 93 Ford Tempo which is making what I perceive as valve or lifter noise. The car has only 84K mi. Any experience with this? What can I do?

Without really listening or being there to diagnose the issues it makes it a bit more difficult to answer.

Have you pulled the cover and looked to see if there is anything abnormally loose?

No I haven't. I assume I could just pull the valve cover and take a look. I believe I have the OHV engine. I guess my initial question was to see if anyone else had experienced these type of noises in the Tempo and if so, what was the resolution. Thanks.

It is a pretty common issue with most cars that are older. Most of the time it something that is loose or as bad as bad valves. It is always best to check the easy thing first.
