99 Mountaineer Beeping - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

After turning the key to the on position w/or without starting the engine I am getting an annoying beep for 1 minute then it shuts off. I have checked all the doors, seat belts, fluid levels... Any suggestions?

Oh... it beeps 3 times. Also I have plenty of gass. The beep didn't start until someone sat in the rear passenger side seat. Hope this helps someone help me figure it out.

No warning lights, the dash is clear. Also it actually beeps five times and on long drives it does this every 30 minutes, 5 beeps, for 5 cycles(1min).

5 sets of 5 beeps is an air-bag fault. Get it checked out by your dealer.

5 beeps is also low oil warning and also high temp warning.

Most likely air-bag.

its not somethnig stupid like a seatbelt warning beep or something is it on with a seat belt warning light?
