the ac in our 98 grand marquis has gone out again!! it only blows full hot. There was a clicking in the dash just before this happened(did the same thing the last time it broke), the last time a AC shop replaced the evap temp mixer(they called it), is this part available aftermarket? how hard to change? the shop charged 200.00 the last time so i believe maybe the lever on the mixer door was broken off and they somehow replaced or repaired it. I know they took out the glove box and worked on the pass side of the car under the dash. Any help would be greatly apprecciated.

check the potentiator behind the dash. my guess is its stuck open. hard to get too but easy to replace...not sure of price. ring repco

Have you checked the condenser, which is located in front of the radiator. Is it leaking anything?
