The a/c on my LTD needs to be converted to the newer gas but I wan't to change the BIG old school pump to something a bit more modern and compact.

Any ideas on price for the change to new gas and will any newer pump work??

In most cases all you will have to change will be the hoses & tx valve.
The compressor normally* just gets emptied & refilled with the appropriate comp oil.
Once this is done its blown out with nitrogen, vac'ed & recharged.
The newer pumps should fit mate afterall the body dimensions are close to the same, if anything a modified bracket could be source for next to bugger all.. As per pump prices look at a wreckers mate they tend to be expensive
