annoying as hell

This seems like a stoopid problem but it really has me stumped.
I have a EB XR8 and the boot always tends to be unlatched after i go for a drive. The boot doesn't come open but if i lock up my car i do not want the large number of dollars i have in a wooden box being ripped off cause my boot isn't closed. The boot latch is totally un adjustable, and i have check and done everything apart from buying a new latch, any one had this problem and could help? or should i just pull my finger out and buy a new latch.
Thanks for any help.

Hi,

can you lock it at all??

Does it only automatically unlatch itself only when you have started the car??

The boot striker plate (the loop at the bottom) is in fact fully adjustable vertically and horizontally. Just loosen the 2 bolts and move it. You will need to remove the trim surround first (two screws).
