Hey guys,

Wasn't sure where to put this thread so it can be moved if theres a better place.
I'm just wondering whether other ppl who own AU's are having issues with starting them. I have an AUII XLS i6 ute with 97 000km on the clock and in the mornings i'll try to start it and it will be turning over for ages and finally kicks in and then stalls (When it's not doing this the starting is quite weak if that makes sense... like it doesn't really jump in.) This only used to happen a couple of times a week and now it's a couple of times a day, usually if i've let it sit for a while.
I have just put iridium tip plugs in it but no change! i thought it might be the leads and had Ford have a thorough check of everything (took 2 1/2 hrs) and they didn't find anything! They just told me it was probably an AU thing! so i'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem with their AU's.
I used to have an EL that started perfectly everytime so i assumed with an AU, similar engine should start fine as well...

its hard to do a diagnosis of a problem like that over the net...

they need to find out if it has both spark and fuel while it is faulting - while its cranking they should be checking for fuel pressure and injector pulse.

if it has both of them they then need to check for spark, which is easy.

if you have all of that and it still doesnt go, then you are in trouble :D
