i want to know how hard would it be to put a EB 4.0L motor in my EA for more power. Or if i could use just the 4.0L bottom end and head and put that straight in. And would i have to change the computer to give me the power from the 4.0L.

well, i thinkt that hte 4.0 wouldn't help that much, u could to do and it woudl mainly b a striaght swap, i woudl recomment goin 4.0 full engine, and then goin EF intake setup for better breathing which i'm in the middle of doin at the moment, and i will tell ya what the power is like, i'm goin from CFi btw, but just puttin the 4.0 computer in wouldn't do jack shit...

Someone from my site has done the conversion before and was very happy with it - he went from a 3.9 3 speed EA Ghia and got a 4 speed auto and 4.0 six. Apparently it cruised wonderfully with the tall 2.77 diff.

But it is a big job. If you wish I can find the old threads on the topic.

As i said in a previous post, you can put in the 4.0 engines into EAs, most quotes i have had fully fitted, its under $1000, fron memory it is bout $900 to have a low kms engine in fully fitted and they will even bolt on ur old trans to it. Not a bad price, should be an ok job because the parts are all the same cept the block n head, so im guessin thats why its reasonably cheap to do. of course it is change over. go the whole hog, when i get a few dollars i am going to get an ED XR6 engine installed
