Just letting you know there's a trans shop in Preston called Preston Automatics & Differentials who do a bad ass shift kit for Ford 4 speed LE series trans. I took an ED 5 litre for a quick spin the other day and let me tell you the thing was chirping into 3rd every time and once into 4th!! This car has done 20,000 hard klms since the shift kit was fitted and not a single prob as yet...highly recommended guys.
yeh i got a shift kit in my AU Futura 6 and the tranny cooler and **** it makes a huge difference u gain a whole heep of power coz ur not waiting for it to select gear or just sluggishly shift up at high revs. got mine done at Preston Automatics and Differentials couldnt more higly recommend them great guys who do good strong work at a more than reasonable price. but yeh the shift kit really gets the shit sluggish ford 4 speed moving

there's no extra stress placed on the transmission with these modifications? You'd think if the gears were jerking into position fast, there'd be more strain?
Also, what's the LE series of transmissions? My car's a May 95 build, does it have this type of transmission?
Do these kits work on tickford gearboxes, which are supposedly standard gearboxes, but the computer has been reprogrammed to shift harder..
I am also very interested in this, so if there is a few of us, i think a group discount could be in order. Also what do people think the price would be for a modification such as this?
