AU 1 Pinging

G,day People.

I need a bit of advice, my AU 1 6 started pinging a couple of weeks ago so I filled it up with Mobil synergy - problem solved. Then I decided to do a tank of half and half and it started again so the next tank was synergy and it still pings. Also an annoying roughness/vibration can be felt through the acelerator pedal between 2000 and 2150 RPM. Can the advance/retard be adjusted on these by moving that "plug" where the Dizzy used to go? Any comments would be appreciated.

Have a really good look for manifold leaks - ie. check tightness of the manifold bolts. Also it could be worth checking your spark plugs.

Some times driving on freeway kicking it down and fear fanging it for a short time to clear some built up carbon can fix this problem especially if you nurse the motor some & short trips.Naturally if it pinks don't do it..
When was the fuel filter last changed?
