How big is the MAF on an AU 6?
Where is it located and would installing a larger one increase power. I also read on the forums that an EF airbox is the go.
Anyone know?

I'm assuming you mean Throttle Body not MAF, cause the 6 uses a MAP sensor not MAF. I dont think anyone has changed the T/B on the I6, it is a decent size as it is no point to change it.
If you want to do something, my suggestion would be to get a bigger air snorkel (cant remember which one fits though) to the airbox and get a custom made pipe to run from the airbox to the T/B. you feel a bit better throttle response from these mods.

Then of course the next thing to do is extractors and exhaust. gives good gains on the I6.

I think it is the EF airbox that is the better one. If you go to a wreckers and have a look over some EF's and EL's you will see that one of them has an alloy trumpety type thing in the upper half of the box.....the one with the alloy bit is the better one.

No, I did mean MAF not throttle body. I know the EA-ED used the map sensor but I thought with the advent of the dual runner computer torque control that ford changed to MAF. Thanks for the good oil on the subject.
