Ok for anyone who has an AU/AU2 and would like some clear indicators, there are two options.

I have taken a picture of the two options you have, and personally i would go for the AU3 Style which requires a bulb. The look neater and flash brighter.

Yeah Matti the AU1 is made the same was as the NF/NL one, it has the orange section which looks alot bigger then the bulb and doesnt look as good as the AU3 one.

I tried both in our last car which was an AU2 Fairmont, and the AU3 one looked much whiter and flashed really bright during the day and at night.

were they on all the series 3 models or just the higher ones?

Keen4D, the AUIII indicators are $27. That gets you both lenses and orange bulbs from any Ford spare parts dealer.

Yep the Part number is AU313K309A and they were on every AU3 model.

How easy are they to change over?

Very easy.

Just push the lense of your current ones towards the front of the car then pull it off.

The bulb unclips off the lense and it's just the reverse to put the new ones on.

That's it.
