Was the engine changed in any way from the au1 through to the au2 and 3.I got a au2 and in my book it says the engine holds 5.5 litres including the filter.Now i can only get 5 litres in mine.I recently bought the gregorys manual book for the au 1 2 3.In it ,it says the au 1 holds 5 litres and au2 ,3 hold 5.5 litres.So was their a change in the motor and have i got a au1 motor in a au2 ute.thanks.

I have an AUII XR6 ute and it takes 5.5 litres of engine oil, I also have the Ellery workshop manual for AU AUII AUIII and it states 5.5 litres for the inline 6 including filter,

Are you putting the 5 litres in then starting the engine to fill the oil filter then stopping it and rechecking the level on the dipstick? Could take extra 500ml to fill the oil filter.

Yeh thats what i do zoltan.And its bang on the full level.But it is down the dipstick a bit now.It says in the gregorys manaul ,that inbetween the add and full mark it is half a litre .Mines only dropped a about a quarter of the way from the full mark.You might be right there.
