What sort of fuel economy do you AU owners get? Ive recently got myself an AU S Pak and, ive put in $40 of fuel and reset the tripmeter. sofar ive gotten 230 klms, with around 110 left according to the DTE reading, and around 1/4 as of the fuel gauge. Is this about right? The tank was on E before me doing this test.
Does this sound normal?
Any feedback appreciated

In my XRTQEHP Soft-o-matic im usually lucky to get 500kms for a tank, although i usually much less as i drive it pretty hard. I have got up to 980km once but was driving VERY quietly to get that.
I own a 99 Au Forte and when I first got it over 2 1/2 years ago a got over 450kms per tank and that was not bad considering the way I drove it. Now I am lucky to get 350kms when I drive it carefully. I have had some major problems in the past with a bad batch of fuel where I had to replace the fuel rail and get the tank cleaned out. Since this happened the car has never been the same. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix the fuel economy problem. And yes I do often run Optimax through the sytem just in case it actually does help.
I get around 600km per tank of normal driving, if im just driving to and from the station I get around 400km. On my way up to Darwin i was getting almost 1000km per tank on straight flat roads, fill up every morning while the excel and holden ute i was with filled up atleast twice per day.
Hi there, I've got an AU1 wagon auto Forte - 12 l/100km city & 8.5 l/100km highway using regular ULP. DTE shows about 600 when in the city or 500 when the wife drives.
The AU3 sedan auto 4.0 l - 11.5 l/100km city & 8 l/100 km on regular ULP, both get about 10% better on premium. DTE 650 in the city.
Use the recommended grade of oil 10w-30 to get good fuel economy. I've tried 10w-40 and both cars did use more fuel (average 0.3-0.5l/100km more fuel) The temperature gauge should sit between the N and the O on NORMAL, lower and the EEC thinks its still warming up and it will run richer sucking for fuel. Good luck
