Hi guys,

Drove an AUII XR8 Ute last night and firstly would like to say that its an awesome ute (thought it needed a manual gearbox), and would gladly hand the money over for one if I had the dollars.

I am curious about a couple of things in the engine bay that maybe one of you could confirm for me. The XR was a 11/2000 build.

There didnt appear to be any Tickford markings on the engine itself. Is this the norm? I thought it would at least have a tickford logo in place of the 5L badge on top of the manifold.

The compliance plate calls it an AU Commercial and doesnt mention it being an XR8 at all. Is this the norm?

Can someone confirm the specs of the engine for me? Was it modifed from stock spec?

would have been a 200kw Model. No Tickford markings on the engine itself. There should have been a name plate from the engine builder on the rocker cover.
No XR8 on the compliance plate is the norm.

Bzzzztttttt! Wrong call.

XR8 ute Nov 2000 is a 185kW and has no engine cover, as well as no cam change or any internal mods whatsoever. It's just the stock 175 with an exhaust change, hence no build plate etc on the rocker covers.

So when did Tickford up the power to 200kw? Somewhere during the AUII series I assume then.

Thought they changed in Oct 2000......but we will have to wait for AP to come and shed some light........
