I remember reading that the on the BA they added a couple of pieces of foam on the back of the number plate to stop the vibration noise you get when you shut the boot.

I checked my AU and I noticed the number plate holder had rubbed through the paintwork to bare metal. It also made a vibration sound when shutting the boot lid.

So with a bit of foam and tape I did my own "BA-to-AU fix"

Mine vibrates too - and I don't listen to doof-doof (unless you count AC/DC as doof-doof music).

I'm going to try this fix!

I thought the AU's had the 4 screw holes? Our AU2 did, only Late AU3's and BAs only had the two top ones,

i know its not an AU or BA but i used double sided side trim tape to hold my numberplates on like it has no screws

it doesnt vibrate or fall off and should be used for all plates no messy holes in bars when you want to convert to slimline plates

I used a self adhesive foam tape available from Clark Rubber. Or you can buy the tape from Holden - it's an item used on VR-VS Commodores for the same reason.
