http://discussions.fordforums.com/sh...threadid=12071

Ive been told they DO NOT FIT... i know for a fact that they fit all falcons on the rear but the front offset is WAY different. Ive seen an XE an EL and an EB with AU rims all round. One guy said u can put spacers but they'd better be atleast 40mm thick which is dangerous. Then some guy told me they fitted on his XD with no spacers??? All i know is i would LOVE AU rims on my XW... The mystery continues....

Hey Fusion
I recently saw an EL XR6 for sale at a dealer in Parramatta.
It also had those rims fitted ?????

Dunno what the story was, but I had a quick squiz at them, and they were Ford Original.
They were the same wheels as you were descibing !
I knew that they were ford genuine, cause they had a ford part number. 94DA******.

As far as I could tell, it had no spacers on it as well.

I was wondering wht the story was, cause I was thinking of getting these wheels (saw em for about $1000 with tyres), but told that they wouldn't fit ?????

Anyone know what the story is ???

i know for sure that they are not 'supposed' to fit because the offset is quite different. i have seen this difference by direct comparison.

even if you do manage to bolt them on though, changing the offset by that much could be bad. wheel bearings are designed to take the weight and cornering forces of the car from a certain angle. changing the offset changes this angle, and can result in damage to the bearings possably to the extent of damaging the stub axles.

Well i know for a fact 16 inch auxr1 rims, dont fit on the front of an EB, but on the rear they do, but they like sit in a mile and they are ugly, dont know about these au2 17inch rims though.

The difference in offset is 30mm, so spacers would be out of the question as the wheel studs are not long enough. I have seen a 'bolt on' type spacer to enable the AU onwards wheels to go onto a pre AU model. No idea how much they are and how reliable

How much? Are they Series I or Series II? Do they come with wheelnuts or is that extra?

There was a discussion a while back about using the spacers http://discussions.fordforums.com/sh...threadid=11798

Lenso do an AU XR8 rim (copy) to suit early Falcon, I presume these are the ones Herrod have?
