whats the deal with these bastards??
theyre riveted in so u cant take em out...

has anyone drilled out the rivots and then just pop riveted them back in? or if youve replaced them with the t-series chrome ones?

i wanna take them out to paint them
ill prob just drill em out and then pop rivet them back in, was just wondering what others had done

Adam - I did my AU2 ones (they unscrew). I went to do the XR6 but when I saw the rivets, there was no way I was going to tackle them!

If you still want to do it, I'm sure you could get some self tappers from a hardware store to put them back in - you're probably looking at size 10g or 12g, I would think. Depends on how neat the hole is after you drill the rivets (be careful not to go through the door!).

Anyway, in answer to your question, no, I haven't done it. Looks like you may be the guinea pig on this one - let us know how you go.

Hi the series 2 ones have screws i wonder if its worth getting them from ford and rescrewing them in the pop rivet holes. I guess just re riviting will work just fine aswell.

nicee, what color did you paint em to?

by the way how did you paint your door trims? what sorta paint did you use, and the results do you get much glare from the dash/paint?

oh yeah and another thing, you have had no problems with the paint you've used, like no peeling or crap like that

didnt paint them, theyre chrome, look hot with the black doors

just read that thread... after you put 3 coats of vinyl spray.. do u need to put any clear coat on? and did you get much spray on other stuff in your car? like carpet or did u cover it with that plastic stuff?

no does not need a clear coat or anything on top

i did put a plastic drop sheet on the seats and floor but found it wasnt necessary as the vinyl spray doesnt drop much over spray at all - im assuming due to the consistency

its great stuff, highly recommend it

what car you lookin at using it on?

um, well im hoping to get an AUII in the next couple of months, but already planning!

just curious how'd you also manage to color, inside the little box on the door?
