Just a couple of questions..

Do the XR front ends only match a series 1 bonnet (an innie not an outie like the s2 sedans) no matter what series XR it is?

Did the series2 XR6s' drop the standard 'T' 4.0l and all come with only the VCT 6 as the engine option? After reading of the small HP gains JC and Casper got with the VCT, i'm sure the 8kw and 8Nm of torque would be easy to catch up with min mods to the non VCT configuration.. Ideas?

I know the payload capacity increased from S1 to S2 by 70 odd kg's but how exactly did they do this, it is just a modded tray or did they redesign the chassis and/or was the sub-frame was moddified somehow? How did they acheive that increase yet reduce the kerb weight by 70kgs <-- with the S2 being 70kg's lighter?

Did the S2 ute cop the 4 pot calipers ala sedan?

All the bonnets for all series of XR's are the same as the AU1 bonnet, with the ridge down the middle. As for the VCT, im pretty sure that they had the VCT and the HP etc, they werent all VCT's but dont wuote me for definate.

i think they dropped the HP from all AU2 onwards because it was faster than the VCT though actually cheaper, and it didnt fit with the "performance/technology thats ahead of itself" advertising they were runing at the time...

series 2 all got twin spot callipers on the front wheels, AUI have ones similar to EA/EL.

dunno about curb weight/payload though.

Just going from memory I think that after they did the 220kW XR8 Pursuit they then did a XR6 Pursuit with the small body kit extras and the VCT engine, whereas the normal AU2 XR6s had the HP engine still. Then after that they may have changed over to the VCT engine, I�m not sure.

As for the load rating, there may have been detail changes to the suspension but nothing major or worth worrying about as far as I know. It could have been a change in GVM for the XR utes � XRs use the same chassis & tray as normal utes.
