AU3 Fairmont Wagon in Cabin Noise

My AU3 Fairmont Wagon is fitted with duel fuel,with8000km only, when driving there is a droning noise in the cabin that is very annoying,2 ford dealers cant fix it,it begins at about 60km gets louder at 70 to 80km,still there at100km,still there but not as noticable now, seems to be at 2000rpm.Ford replaced the silencer which improved it for a little while, say 500km but is as loud as ever again.
Very frustrating, anybody had the same experience if so what is the fix.
Appreciate any help guys,
Keithie

keithie welcome to Ford Forums. I have moved this post to the The Garage - Technical Discussions section.

I don't have any suggestions for you, but hopefully somebody can assist you.

Re: AU3 Fairmont Wagon in Cabin Noise

Try tightening the bolts down your exhaust?

Can you get a fix on where it's coming from, definitely sounds exhaust-related IMO.

Thanks mongrelEB hard to locate it as the noise is not there when stationary, only when car hits about 50kpm does the noise or drone become obvious, its there till 100-110kpm,its probably still there but you cant hear it cause of the road/wind noise.the exhaust sounds normal when stationary and the engine is revved up.the noise is more like a drone that doesnt change pitch and the tacho is at from1600-2100rpm.any other clues.

Re: AU3 Fairmont Wagon in Cabin Noise

Oh yeah how about your brakes and wheel bearings?

That's all I can think of right now
