Automatic tensioner almost came off?
..now I'm having problems refitting it. I have 1993 Sierra (European) 2,0 litre DOHC. It is the tensioner for the auxiliary belt (?) which runs the power steering, alternator etc. When I tried to release tension, two brackets in the centre of the pulley came off with a clanking noise. I managed to release tension and refit the belt, but now the tensioner sits 1 cm (app. 1/3 inch) too far out from the engine block, so the belt actually rubs against it.
Needless to say, I can't drive anywhere like this.
How do I refit the tensioner. Please help.
