I was just wodering what other peoples ave fuel/100kms is on an EL/EF Fairmont.

Currently after 1000ks i got 12.2

Thats mostly city driving

Best I have had was 9.6...all on the highway at 100kph....worst was 21 during a flog fest. Mines auto EL Fairmont

Geez 12.2 mate, how do you manage that with city driving, mine is an EL auto also, and my ave is bout 16.5 and that driving with a light foot, though its ideling slightly my car, so maybe thats why it using more petrol, maybe just need a tune up

12.2 for me is shit......I aim for 11.7 or so

Im still only getting 500/550 from a tank though.

My V8 EF gets about 13L/100km in the city, but only when I grandma drive it. I've used a whole tank in 280km once.

In the country, i usually get 8-9l/100km, at 110/120

Holy smoke batman, try 17L/100ks (grandma) and 22.5L/100ks recently (I think a sensor has failed or something... I got a "faulty EGR sensor" code or something like that from the ECU) Never had her less than about 16.5 5.0 EL Fairmont Ghia

I average around 450kms a tank, but fill with 40 left to go, so 490kms if you look at it that way. My injectors are rooted, so i spose im pretty lucky there, but it reports 13.3 or there abouts. Used to be high 11s though.

I've had it sitting on 8.3/100 on holiday trips, and with a fully loaded car (boot + back seat full of holiday crap) it went 9.8/100 on a 3000km trip which is not to shabby.

The 6's are pretty thirsty little things, and they run pretty rich straight from the factory. But you should make atleast 500kms a tank around town with normal driving and a good squirt once a day. If you dont ya need to give it a tune up :)
