hey i am lookin at buyin a second hand BA XR6 ute or sedan

i am just asking if they have any major troubles to look for and send in for warranty before the warranty runs out.

if someone could pick there main fualts and tell me that would be very much apprechiated.

i am lookin to pay about 25,000 to 31,000 on an N/A xr6 is this a fair price to pay for one.

We have an xr6t and have had the following two probs,
Brake shudder,fixed under warranty.
Water leak at turbo and back of water pump,fixed under warranty.
Those are common probs right across the ba range and if you are buying secondhand you should find they may of been fixed by now.
Also manuals tend to have a very clunky diff between gear changes,similar sound to diff backlash sound.Some are better than others.
Some had stalling issues,but is fixed under warranty with a ecu upgrade.
With all this said,they are a great car expecially the turbo.So dont let this put you off,just find one thats had all these issues attended to and you'll have a great car.

thanx for that i was told by a couple of people about the brake shudder problem and that it is just a machine of the discs and new altered pads.

are they any other things witht them i was told that they have some power steer leaking problems.

For $25, I reckon it would be a high km example, maybe a few scratches, no options, prob better to get one around 27-28, it would have stuff all kays, prob get a hardcover, maybe leather... Just my 2c.

Might be wrong, but I think sedans would start at around $30k??

I havent heard of any p/s probs with them,but there may be a few.Ours has done 30000k's and no p/s probs to speak of.

they are gettin 26500 for ones that have auto and under 20000 km and they are very close to a new car. really they are just about 1 and a half years old that all so they are half way out of warranty.

few annoying dash rattles. once u seem to get one you can never get rid of it. clunky diff (apparently this i just the cones so theyre gunna add an 'additive' next time to stop that) and a lot of pressure, followed by a thump as you pass through reverse goin to drive on an auto, which happens more so on incline. they say to just ignore that.
apart from those, kick ass car....smooth engine
