best way to spend $2500?

ok, i'm thinking brakes and exhaust. i can borrow up to $1000 so let's just say my limit is $3500. i know where i'll be getting the exhaust done (croydon motorsports) because i'll be getting some other work done over there.

now brakes... what can $2500 buy me in terms of a complete brake rehaul?

i'd like to see that! at 22, anything do to with cars is expensive. plus, for around $45,000 i will have a car that will kick some serious arse. as in more arse than any of the stock T series falcons so far! yes, even more than the T3

Nick,
If you want some good brake gear theres a company (i think it's called Sebco) which they have packages that includes new stub axle and bigger diameter rotors and performance pads for the price your talking about.
I think HSE2 has them on his XR8.

i dont exactly no why you are wasting your money on new brakes? what have you done too your car that the normal braking system wont handle with ease?!

their must be some sort of logical reasoning behind it cause alot of people seem to do it... just for $2500 there is alot of stuff i think you could probably do...

cheers

steve

Nick - I think it is Cebco that offers club members a discount on there "sports" brake package. It was a little under $2k from memory for the kit, and you needed 17" or bigger rims to fit it (lucky you)

Its good you are looking into brakes now, as I know you will need some SERIOUS stopping power in a couple of months when you have got your "BABY" finished.

at the moment, the car doesn't need the brake upgrade. soon (i'm hoping before october), i will be needing all the braking power i've got because i've got a few things in mind. i'm going to book my car into Croydon Motorsports ASAP to have a sports exhaust fitted, so there's one performance upgrade. if the price is right, i might go for a cam as well. that's another performance upgrade.

trust me, i wouldn't be wasting money on brakes if i didn't need them.

kell

i checked their website, and it looks like these guys are only putting things together from various sources. i'll talk to Croydon about that as well. i'll be going down tomorrow after work. i guess i could go for the kit and have croydon fit them... anyway, i'll talk to the guys tomorrow.
