Guys i want to warn all people who are running a Unichip and have fitted the new ss induction kit. The kit works that well that inconjunction with the unichip the air/fuel mixture becomes dangerously lean and will ping excessivelly under load.Sometimes this can only be picked up on a dyno and not always on open roads.My suggestion is that if you have a unichip you MUST get it retuned after fitting this kit.

Thanks for the advice. Another good reason to get chips/engine management changes done AFTER all other mods to take advantage of any gains

Or ensure that you have the car tuned after each mod to take full advantage (the benefit of the Unichip and others).

Doesn't the computer adjust to suit the extra air. If a certain air fuel ratio is tuned in, and you add more air won't the computer compensate with more fuel, or does the extra air put the mixture too far out of the ballpark for the computer to work with.

on a standard non unichip fitted car the management system runs enough fuel to compensate the extra air, but the way power is gained with the unichip fuel has to be taken out as it runs to rich for the available air and a little bit more timing put in, once the SS kit is fitted their is more than enough air so it leans out the mixture and pings(not good)The bonus now is that with the availability of that extra air you can really give it some juice, hence more PPOOOWWWEEERR.
