It has a 3.27:1 diff doesnt it? A 3.73 would liven her up big time.

As for the motor the sky is the limit, just depends on how much you got to spend.

Pacemaker headers are a good start though, and maybe a cold air intake like the one in the Tech section over at www.nswxrclub.org.au

I would get her breathing before you do any many engine mods.

a set of pacemakers, lukeys etc etc extractors will do wonders, a cold air intake, different air filter too (you get a really nice induction noise from the pod air filters)

then MAF and TB...

I just did Yella Terra roller rockers (ST 2027), Crane Cam (Comp Cam 2031) and a few other things and got an extra 21kw at the wheels.. Its heaps more fun now :D
If you are planning on doing anything like that (or even stroking it) you should invest in a reprogrammable chip first... Without it the car will run s#*t house.

The roller rockers (which are the same ones used in the T Series) and the cam where about $500 each.

But... when you do that you also need to get new valve springs, valve spring locators (??) and lifters. That will also set yuu back another few hundred.

Also - these mods wont work too well if you are running the standard EEC.

If you are planning on doing some serious mods you might want to invest in a UniChip. :D

Hell I think the fastest one with the stock ECU has run 10s or 9s??

After I got my cam and roller rockers done, I couldnt get the car to idle.. was backfiring, stalling at EVERY set of lights (unless I kept my foot on the accelerator with the revs over 1500) and being a pain the butt...

chewed through a massive amount of petrol too. (half a tank in 2 days - only about 100km's)

On the tuesday I took the car to croydon autosports and 2.5 hours on the dyno fixed it up. She runs perfectly now - and I know I couldnt have had the car runnning like this without the unichip.

The computer has to re-learn the air and fuel mixtures, and it usually takes a few hundred kms of varied driving (ie fast, slow, highway, in traffic etc)
