Just contacted the car yard and they're willing to pay for part of the repair if needed and will give it an inspection tmr...................Let see what will happen.............How much will a mechanic usually take to replace the compressor?

wind the window down and all is good, not quite as effective but still does the job.

Re: Bloody Air Con......

700-800 if its a new compresser, if you get a second hand one look at paying just over 100 for the compresser and $250 to get it fitted gased etc. and make sure they put die in it.

Re: Bloody Air Con......

i brought my ea for $1500 but is now worth about $2500 to $3500
i decied that air con is not worth it - since my whole system needs repalcing - $950 (including labour)

anyway my point is that my whole system "only" costs $950 to replace/recondition

by the way - ea's and i suppose na/nc cant get new compressors - they dont make them anymore

just another thought - when i asked ford about compressors they said that a brand new au cost $800

i just thought i would let you know so you can see how prices are made
