Hey all it's not my car so you can calm down. I know you were all worried (and mines and EB anyway)

My dad's EA sedan is being a bastards and sputtering all the time.
Ok so your driving along and it sputters under any load (and by sputter I mean it's like riding a pissed off bull)
change down a gear and it's ok but then does it again then goes away for a while.
This was happening for a while so my father replaced the following (most with second hand stuff unless it was cheap bits then it was brand new)
fuel pump
distributor,
leads,
map sensor,
oxygen sensor
fuel filter
We diagnosed the computer and that's why the map sensor and oxygen sensor were replaced)
then after all that we reset the ECU and my dad was able to drive a while ok then he stopped the car and went to start it and now it won't start (well it starts then stalls straight away)
now he's replaced the coil and it started then drove (still spluttering) then died again and now it won't start again.
I'm stumped now I can't think of anything else it could be apart from a stuffed and earthing wire in the loom.
Oh and all the relays have been replaced as well.
