confused Blue Slip Questions

Hey Guys..

Because i got a reconditioned engine fitted...the guys told me that i have to go and get a "Blue Slip" inspection done in order to change the engine number with the R.T.A...

What does the blue slip inspection entail?? Its not the same inspection done to a car thats more than 3 months out of rego is it?? They wouldnt be going over the whole car...id assume they would only check the engine number to see if it is legit...is that true? Or is it more indepth than that??

Thanks for any Help
