Does anyone own or has any experiance on BMC Carbon Intake. How much is it? Who sells it (Around Melbourne preffered) & what's the difference (eg. better throttle response, more induction noise, better fuel economy...etc). How hard is it to install & is there any need for cutting or drilling?

Any information is Appreciated.....

Hey how ya going.
I'm assuming you are talikng about the manderal bent pipe used in the EF/L that goes from the throttle body to the box.
I have not used this pipe myself, however, I have experimented with different pipe's, and there is a noticable loss when using the standard piping. I find that the engine becomes more responsive from mid to high rpm with the better flow.

There has been talk abut this on the Garage forum a while back, you might want to do a search.

we removed the bmc filter from the xr8 explode when we built the new engine with the 8 throttle bodys. we then donesome tests on the bmc carbon fibre set up. when teted on the dyno it made no gains what so ever. then tsted it on the road car felt a little different but not enough for us to sell this unit.However bmc make a replacment element for the std air filter box like a k/n thats were i would spend my money.
