I'm assuming you are talikng about the manderal bent pipe used in the EF/L that goes from the throttle body to the box.
I have not used this pipe myself, however, I have experimented with different pipe's, and there is a noticable loss when using the standard piping. I find that the engine becomes more responsive from mid to high rpm with the better flow.
There has been talk abut this on the Garage forum a while back, you might want to do a search.
