BTR85LE s5 replacement & service

Hi guys, Just wanna know if any of you guyz have had the above done too yer 4spd auto's... im getting it done at $350 on thursday which was the lowest of the 3 quotes i got. One guy wanted $550! Is $350 a decent price or does it sound dodgy??

Coz its faulty and causing shift flare between gears

That's prob pretty fair.The solenoid is around the $180 mark,trade price ,so with oil + filter+ gasket and labour it all adds up..

I got mine done for $300. So $350 isn't bad. One place here said they couldn't give me a deffinate price, but it would be at least $600 or more!

If i have symptoms such as.

Hard shifting under full throttle
Clunk from 3-2 under mild accelration
occasional clunk down into 1st when stopping at lights

does that sound like a broken S5?

Ive been described as a vault of usless random knowledge.

Ill take it as a complement i think.............

The 3 speed is cheaper, and you can modify it heaps.

Yea, true but i use my car on long trips so a 3spder is not an option for me..
