That's prob pretty fair. The solenoid is around the $180 mark, trade price ,so with oil + filter+ gasket and labour it all adds up..

I got mine done for $300. So $350 isn't bad. One place here said they couldn't give me a deffinate price, but it would be at least $600 or more!

If i have symptoms such as.

Hard shifting under full throttle
Clunk from 3-2 under mild accelration
occasional clunk down into 1st when stopping at lights

does that sound like a broken S5?

The 3 speed is cheaper, and you can modify it heaps.
