Hi,
Does anyone have people they can recomend me to talk to?? I am in Queensland but nearly anywhere in Australia is an option for me. I am wanting about 160bhp and I don't mind if it is a bit of a pig to drive.

Recomendations???

gday,if you in queensland ,and you want a good strong engine built,you should look no further than Danny mischock,he has a lot of knowledge in the 2ltr pinto engines and can build an engine and offer advice.

For more escort/pinto info goto ---> "the works escort" forum as there quite a few guys on this forum with a lot of experience,but danny will be there to get in contact with.

For 160hp youll need ported head gpr 1 valves,cam,40-45mm webers,bump compression,you should be able to use standard rods so long as you dont revs it over 7000rpm to often.

Speak to anyone involved with formula fords. Their race engines are based on 1600cc escort engines, only difference is the blocks are aftermarket (apparently someone is still making the old 1600cc block for tractors so they can be bought new!).

They pump out around 165-175hp and rev hard all day long.

No idea on how much one would cost through.

Go the Pinto 2 Ltr.. The Kent engine is no way as strong.Use a good valve spring, cam, combo other wise you'll cut cams out as quick as...imo..
Yep 45mm Webber sidedroughts,4 into 1 extractors, ported heads and you'll get there...
