General TechHave a question that is not covered by one of the other categories? This is the forum for all other items not specifically covered in other categories.
From what I can see, the shelf is welded down. But I'm sure I've read it in my workshop manual, I just can't find it again! So, can it be removed without cutting? It'd give me easier access to strengthen it for my speakers. Pretty sure it can't... Just hoping =)
Cheers.

afik if you modify the parcel shelf you can't get rwc for the car afik it'll need an engineers report or something to get rwc'd

you can modify the parcel sheft... but you can't *remove* anything from it.
by strengthening it i assume you're not intending on removing any metal or anything.
never heard of being able to remove it though, do it in the car

I don't wanna cut any metal I already have 6*9s, but they're located underneath the parcel shelf. In the future I will replace them with 6"s. I just want easy access so I can sound-deaden it without getting all dust and shit in my nose and getting all hot and bothered! I also want a layer of MDF to strengthen it to reduce rattles. Bah! I am not good with measuring, and then cutting and having a neat fit But looks like it's my only option.

Maybe use cardboard for a start and trim it to size using a craft knife? Then use that to cut out the MDF. When you get a good fit, cut out another and I'll pick it up for mine
