there is a sensor on the thermostat housing on an ea falcon mpi, its not the coolent temp sender or the dash temp sender, its the one with 2 vacume lines coming off it, does anyone know what it does? what would the consiquences be if the vacume lines anrnt connected
i dont think its plastic, its red, but the old one i pulled off was pink, its just a thing that screws into the thermostat housing, so its temerperture related somehow and it has 2 vaccume lines connected to it.
yes i tried to trace one of them but it goes off behind the firewall somewhere and its a nightmare to trace the other one i was just hoping someone knew off hand what the thing does
It the PVS valve. It changes the air conditioning air inlet mode from fresh to recirculation when engine overheating is imminent. This reduces the load on the compressors and thus the load on the overheating engine. PVS= Ported Vacuum Switch.
