What would be a good car battery to get?

Need to know cos mine is losing charge and not properly recharging after getting it tested at the last service.

I bought a Bosch one last time from Kmart.

We only buy Exide batteries, so far the one we have has lasted about 2 and a half years, the one before that one was an Exide and lasted about 4 years. We had a Bosch battery in the VL and it lasted a year before it died, it's now got an Exide in it

Yep I also have an Exide now. It cost well over $100 but at the time I was desperate because my car was barely running with the old battery - it was night time and I couldn't even use my parking lights.

With 550 cranking amps and an inbuilt battery charge indicator, it seems to be lacking in no area.

Mates. Alot of batteries have the same codes on them but different stickers/brands. Check the codes and then compare different brand prices for the same codes. It doesn't matter about the brand if the code is the same.

I have found that a really good cheapish battery that you can't go wrong with is the N70ZZ (N70Z). This is commonly called a TRUCK, TRACTOR, 4X4 battery and it had alot of grunt. This battery is perfect for running amps/ stereos when the engine is off and still having enough power to start the engine. I know this for a fact as I had a old battery that was 10 years old (N70ZZ) and when i had it tested it read -10 the scale is (-10 - 10) and the only reason it still started the big 4.5lt engine is because it is a big battery and has alot of presence.

That's what i would reccomend. It is a maitence battery, but most of us ford fans would consider it sensible to check fluid levels every week/month!

A HINT: check to see if the battery will fit in the holder before buying it or have it installed professionally!

oi buddy check your alternator diode pack and drive belt, or alternator itself.....batteries dont usually just refuse to charge up if they have sufficient electrolyte.
