been having a lil problem with my ba xr6 (2004) lately.

wen the car is at its warmest and i go to stop at red lights, stop signs, etc.

the car revs almost drops to 0 feels like the car is gonna turn off then it will go back up again to normal (about 600rpm)

and it will move slightly like to 500, 400 then go back to normal. and not as often will go to 200-100rpm car shakes, struggles then goes back to normal.

took it too ford, they confirmed what i reported, they said it is most likely the throtlle body has carb build up. they cleaned it. got it back seemed ok. drove it next day to work same thing happened again..

any1 else experience this prob?

I'm thikning its got something to do with the ecu? its not sure where to idea wen the car is standing still...

I have had this lots in my car. It was always fixed by cleaning the throttle body. Maybe they didn't clean it very well?!?!?!? Ask them to do it again

I had similar issues with my 04 XR6 - The first Ford dealer told me it was the mod's installed and could not do anything for me unless I return the vehicle to standard. The daeler where I bought the car reflashed - upgraded the PCM which seems to have fived the problem. Ask them to reflash the PCM

I have the same problem with my series 2 ute only it will occasionally stop altogether. it only happens when it is hot and I have pulled up somewhere. I also have a 2004 xr6 sedan series 1 it will do the rough idle thing, but never stops. It can be a bithch to start sometimes when it is hot though. I will talk to my local dealer now that I have read this forum. Cheers

guys ive had the t/b cleaned and the ecu reflashed and it always comes back.ive given up how many times ive had it at ford

went again; still no luck. giving it 1 mroe try at this palce b4 i take it to the head service centre.

thinks it could be something with the accell. peddal...

3rd time lucky. throttle body sensor was dirty. all fixed now
