Car running rough
Bare with me this may be long.....
I have a 1992 Ford Festiva.
Everyonce in a while after starting the car for the first minute or so the car would run bad..meaning I would push the pedal to the floor and the car would barely move. Sputtering really bad, but all of a sudden it would clear up and run fine. It wouldn't do it all time...
One day it started running really bad, could hardly keep it started, had to gas and clutch with Hi rpm to take off from a light.
It finally died. Couldn't get it started. It would turn over, but not start.
Troubleshooting:
After changing the fuel filter it started, but it runs really bad, almost like it's running on one cylinder. I left the fuel line disconnected from the fuel filter and turned it over to check the fuel flow from the pump. The amount of fule flow was strong and constant. I then changed the spark plugs, wires, rotor, cap and air filter. No change. I then pulled the injectors had them tested, cleaned and new filters installed. That didn't help.
I did a compression test and that was in specs also.
I checked the timing belt and time. All that was right on the money with no play in the belt. Checked for vacumm leaks, none found. It's not leaking or burning oil. With the car running I do notice this vibrating air sound coming from the MAF. Iv'e never noticed it, so I can't tell if it's always sounded like that.
Any help would be appreciated.
