Care of your pod filter - what not to do!

well i washed my engine at work the other day, put a plastic bag over the pod and the alarm to stop water getting in, soaped the engine up and washed it, then blew it dry with the airgun.

it all looked beautiful, and i started my car to move it a little so i could wash it, but it was running like crap and idling at about 450rpm, so i stopped and had a look - i had forgotten to take the bag off the filter, and the vacuume created from running the engine had sucked the filter into a banana shape!!!!!

so i had to spend about 15 mins straightenig out the filter and adjusting the mesh so it didnt look like i had stolen it off a commo from the wreckers....

dont i feel silly....

A mate of mine with an ED never really looked after it. Service once a year kind of thing.
So he takes it these clowns at ultra tune because it is running really bad, pays them some $200 and the replace, leads, fuel filter, plugs. It runs a lot better, but still idles really rough.
So he takes it another to place. The guy pops the top of the airbox off and there's your problem. The filter was so bloked that it had completely concaved into the box while it was trying to suck air so hard.

Cowns....
