I just took my mums car alarm and central locking out her old magna and i was about to put the central locking in the XF today when i realised i have no holes in my doors to run wire to from the cabin?
How have people got around this? Do i have to drill holes in the metal on both the door and cabin to run these wires? or is there another way? Do other XF's have these holes??

I need to get the wires for my splits in there as well and i cant. Not happy!

I had to use a drill in my doors for central locking.

You will see on the side of the door there is a spot that has been centre punched. This is where the factory hole is drilled. Then they ran them to the big rubber grommet in the pillar.

on my old ute, i too drilled out the holes to fit power windows, central lock and door speakers (i fitted XF Ghia trims inside) if ya really dont wanna drill the holes go get some XF Ghia doors - see if ya can get em complete - power windows, mirrors, locks etc

How did you guys drill the holes.
My drill cant reach the right spot from inside and wont come close from the outside.
I went to JB and asked the guy and he said it can be done with an angle drill. but his is broke. I've never heard of an angle drill.Is there another way other than taking the doors off or replacing them??

as far as I know, you gotta take the doors off

well i had my window regulators out (changing to power windows ) so it would have given me a whole stack more room although i did still manage to take some skin off my knuckles grr i used a holesaw on my cordless drill, - damn those cordless drills - it went flat half way through each hole grrr

I just opened the doors wide, chucked a metal drill bit in the drill got down on the floor and drilled into the door.
The hardest bit was running the cable thru cos there is 2 bits of metal you've got to get thru.
