I use a special rag that requires water only. It is used for removing finger prints off stainless steel, and a host of other items like glass (got it through my father in law's kitchen appliance business). Can even use it on window tint.

Dunno as I'm not a smoker, but I think it would work fine. Its great for greasy finger prints, the build up on the inside of the window, and even removing bugs and crap from the windscreen. If you were in the ACT, I'd let you have a go of mine. I've been using it extensively in my part time job for 2 years, and it still works fine. I'm still trying to track down the name of it though... And it definately is NOT called Enjo.
