Does anybody know if the EB CLimate control box (The face plate thing) Is the same as the EA one. IE. are they interchangable.

As far as I know they are, only difference is the buttons, same with the trip computer, I mean they didn't include any extra features as far as I know. One thing, to buy it from Ford would cost a low $777, and a trip computer would cost $335. Good old' el cheapo Ford hey...

The EB one to my knowledge is exactly the same. The EB II one had black buttons and a different display. Apparently the loom is the same but it isn't that easy to get it to work. I ended up postponing that mod indefinitely.

You already tried jack. Damn cause my dash is cracked and i need to pull it off to replace heater flap. I was going to replace the whole dash with a EB one. So you tried, what probs did you have with it, thanks jack.

OK the EB II Climate control display costs about $100 from my local wrecker, and it will fit in no problems. The only worry is over losing features, etc. You might get a bit of a trade-in on your current one too.

Replacing the whole dash with the EB II or ED one (these used better materials than EA-EB and are less likely to crack) is an excellent idea. But you will find that you can plug your old climate control, trip computer, stereo, etc, etc right in. The dash 'shell' is all you want. I hope to do this mod myself some day.

I have an 89 NB (yes NB!) Fairlane and a 93 NC Fairlane. The later one gives you an ambient temperature reading and doesn't have the LEDs under each button like the earlier one.

Hey Jack, they asked $100 for a climate control console??
Thats a bit hefty aint it?? Im getting all the parts for the entire
climate control conversion for $100! Just hope i can put it in!
