1990 Ford EA Falcon GL, Auto, 4 Speed Electronic Automatic, Sedan, 30th Anniversary Model.

Need code to reset computer after engine has been changed.

The code I have tried is :

A) Turn IGN on. Do not start.
B) Select 1st gear. Switch to economy.
C) Select 2nd gear. Switch to power.
D) Select 3rd gear. Switch to economy.
E) Select drive. Switch remains on economy.
F) Depress accelerator fully and hold for one minute.
Release pedal.
G) Select neutral. Start engine. Leave idling for one
minute. Air conditioner must be off.

Pin number will be required to reactivate the stero.

If, anyone has the correct code it would be much appreciated.

Hi

I have always reset my computer by removing the battery leads, then replacing, start the car with not accesories turned on, let car run on its own for about 15 minutes, dont touch the throttle or anything....

I not totally sure if playing with any buttons or changing gears does anything, i think it resets the tranny's brains or something

Yeh thats all I do to reset the computer, disconnect the battery terminals for about 15 min, then to reset the throttle position just start it up with no accessories on and dont touch the throttle for about 3 minutes, you only have to leave it for about 1 minute tho, then turn the engine off and leave the key in the on position and hold the throttle to the floor for a minute

The best way I have found to reset the computer is do dissconnect the battery for around 5 min press the brake pedal draining all the charge out of the capitors.Reconnect the computer,A/C off steering wheel straight and in park,start the car.Then it is a matter of driving it.Its best off driving for around 15km under different conditions such as hard acclerlation,hard decel,cruise and normal stop start driving.Turn the A/C on and off and thats all you need.What you are trying to do is a self test which is not a relearn but is used to remove codes hard and soft stored in the computers memory but once the battery is disconnected then this is erased anyway.By just driving it, the computer recieves all the important inports such as P/S,brake,throttle position and so on.The radio code will have to be received from your local Ford Dealer.After 10 years all radio codes are deleted from the dealerships access, it may take a couple of days to recieve the information from HQ in Melbourne.
