coil gone

My coil went this morning on my Ed xr6, no spark, the nrma guy said when the coil goes the tfi(ignition module) almost certinally will go shortly after,is this true or is this myth, what has every one else done after a coil has died.for now he has cable tied the new coil in and on the weekend ill fix it correctly

It was running for 10 seconds then it died ,replaced the coil ,started first go ,will the ignition module die next week.?

thank fellas

Its just me in the Wagon
