having problems with my wifes ef falcon during col weather the car runs fine soon as it warms up the motor runs a little rough still drives ok but looses a slight bit of performance, i check the coils primary resistance and got 1.2 ohms compared to .6 ohms in the GREGORYS WORKSHOP manual does that much resistance cause intermintent problems during cold and hot days...???
Actually the the Ford factory manual say it should be between 0.41 and 0.45 ohms. Yes; a too high reading will cause a drop off in performance. I assume you checked your multimeter was zeroed or adjusted your readings accordingly ie if the two test leads are touched together you get zero ohms or you took away from your reading the resistance of the test leads.
i made sure it was zero ohms before went futher ,it has been playing up for a while i think just thought i would check out the coil the leads are in spec. Might buy a new anyway and add to my collection of other goodies replaced over years.
