Hi all, long time no see.

At the moment I'm reseaching how I would go about putting a completely computer controlled ignition system on my 302C.

It's a little project of mine, and I want to build/design as much stuff as possible (eg. no conversion kits).

I want to convert the points system to a pointless system, with a laptop as the computer (can we say, overkill).

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before? Does anyone know where I could get the required high voltage relays for the ignition system? As well as any ideas as to how I would intergrate the laptop so that it triggers the relays?

I know that I will need to install some type of camshaft sensor, as I will be removing the distibutor timing.

Any help greatly apreciated!

Thanx for that, interesting read, but not quite what I was a after.

I haven't quite decided yet if I want injection or carbie'd.

What I was asking about was computer controlled IGNITION.

Something similar to (bad words) a VN commodore, only for a Ford V8 instead of a Holden V6. A completely computer controlled, distributorless system.
