Complete computer controlled ignition on an XB 302C
Hi all, long time no see.
At the moment I'm reseaching how I would go about putting a completely computer controlled ignition system on my 302C.
It's a little project of mine, and I want to build/design as much stuff as possible (eg. no conversion kits).
I want to convert the points system to a pointless system, with a laptop as the computer (can we say, overkill).
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before? Does anyone know where I could get the required high voltage relays for the ignition system? As well as any ideas as to how I would intergrate the laptop so that it triggers the relays?
I know that I will need to install some type of camshaft sensor, as I will be removing the distibutor timing.
Any help greatly apreciated!
Fact 1: I drive a Ford, all my mates drive Holdens.
Fact 2: They all admit that I'm the smartest guy they know
Conclusion: Fords are better than Holdens CAUSE I SAY SO!!!
