i wanna put a t5 in my xr but dunno if i have to get a manual computer or just disconnect the auto trans computer and if i can just disconnect the auto trans computer where is it located.

Is it an EECIV or EECV?
EECIV uses a separate gearbox computer, EECV combines engine and gearbox computers. Thus, EECIV (I think ED and earlier) cars you can just disconnect the gearbox computer. You will also find that you have to do some minor rewiring to get around the inhibitor switch in the auto.....
I just decided i didn't need the clutch and neutral switches and earthed the wire at the relay.
It's pretty much a bolt-in job, in most falcons the wiring looms and bolt holes are there for auto or manual.

If its a 4.0 you cant just disconnect the computer. All 4.0 computers have the auto integrated ECC4 and EEC5.

The engine will run but it will do weird things like up to 3000rpm idle etc and itll throw so many codes because the auto isnt there for it to communicate to. I had a 4.0 computer in my 5 speed EA and it was shitbox.

Get the manual computer if you can

What model did the EECIV run to?
Cos I know the EECV has an integrated g/box comp., but my EB EECIV does not. So my question is, would they bother putting two separate types of EECIV in the cars? Not, mind you, that I'm saying you're wrong, just curious.

EEC4 ran to ED. EF went to EEC5.

Your EB is a series 1 I assume?
Why did they have 2 different setups? Maybe it was the move to EEC5 that would have already been in the pipeline? Theres probably hunderds of reasons.

Ill remember that, its like the diffs between EA and EB - should fit, different rear yokes!

EEC V V8's still have a seperate transmission control module. It was integrated into the PCM in the 6's.

well my xr6 which is an series2 has the smart lock with the boot release on the key pad and it has power windows and all other options ex ford directors car do i have too find an ecu with all that shit programmed into it or just the smartlock and did all ebser2 come with the trunk release on thr keypad for the smart lock.
