I have an EA CPI, 3sp, on Gas. It won't go! 0 to 40 it sh!t slow, but once it hit 40 it just seems to take off! Are there any reasons for this? My cousins EB 4sp, on Gas spins the wheels off the line! What is going on? Is there any way to get some more power down the low end and not pull 3000 revs down the freeway?
Have you tried to run your car on petrol? If the problem still remains then it is not a fuel problem. It could be your spark, (dodgy leads), your throttle cable, your transmission etc.
Do you have the 3.9 or the very rair 3.2 litre engine both came in cpi/cfi. 3000rpm dorn the freeway is too much for a 3.9litre. mine does 100kmh at about 2350/2400rpm.
Maybe some else can sugest something.

check your stall converter. Do this by firmly putting your left foot on the brake in drive and flatten it so the motor is hard against the converter, it should be at around 1600 rpm, if its too much lower your conv is the problem, happened to me.
