Any suggestions as to why I would be experiencing what I think is ignition cutout at about 4000rpm? Its so severe it nearly throws me out the windscreen. Whats even weirder is it only happens when I am making a right turn. XR8 220

Could be the same problem my bro's XR8 220 had, something to do with suction of fuel in the tank. Does it occur worse when low on fuel, say a quarter of a tank?

I havn't really noticed, but should it make any diffrenc with the amount of fuel you have?

It would if the fuel pickup isn't near the bottom of tank...

The problem with my bro's was noticed once we got down to a quarter of a tank, it is annoying when you a throttling and it feels like you hit the rev limiter or something. There was a thread on this where i posed the question.

Problem was simply fixed by changing the part in the fuel tank. No more problems since.
The dealer my bro went to rang up ford help centre, and they said it was the pickup in the tank, and the part had to be changed.

dudes, same thing happens in my AU XLS 5.0 T5, driving along under accelaration and pow!!!!!!!!! for a second engine cuts out and the force nearly chucks you out the windscreen, its feels as if some one tied a chain to your car and the slack takes up, any one has felt it ?????

erm, right hand turns at 4000rpm? do you like looking down the road out of the side window too?

your car will still be under warranty wont it? take it back to ford.
